City park events
The City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Department lists Halloween and fall carnivals at neighborhood recreation centers all through late October, plus a Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 14 at Penn Athletic Field. Some are free and some ask for registration or a small fee, so check the event calendar or the fall events list before you go.
Turn a free Saturday into house-hunting research
- Notice the commute. Drive to the event the way you would drive to work.
- Walk the area. A parade or festival shows you the parks, restaurants and streets better than a listing photo does.
- Write down what you liked. Three notes after each outing will tell you what to search for when you start looking.
Ready to start your first-home search? Rudy would be glad to talk it through. The four-question Home Strategy Quiz takes about a minute, and he will follow up personally.
Dates and times were checked on the organizers’ and cities’ own pages on October 3, 2026. Events can change or sell out, so open the linked page before you head out. This site is not affiliated with any event listed here.
